A small team writing under pen names, which is standard in a category where bylines attract more spam than correspondence. The names are stable — the same person keeps the same beat, so a correction reaches whoever wrote the sentence.

M. Deveraux — editor, verdict and small print

Writes the full verdict, the grade sheet and everything to do with promotional terms. Came to this from consumer-finance writing, which is where the habit of reading the clause before the headline comes from. Responsible for the rule that no number appears on this site unless we can say where it came from, and for the decision not to publish a score out of ten.

R. Okonjo — cashier and payments

Covers deposits, payouts and banking methods. Spends most of the working week on the unglamorous half of this industry: verification queues, payment rails and the difference between the two clocks that run on every withdrawal. Wrote the position that a method which cannot pay you back is not a payment method.

J. Lindqvist — games and mobile

Covers the library, mobile play and apps. Plays enough to know that two slots in the same theme rail can be completely different products, and argues on every page that the game's own info panel beats any review table — including this site's.

How we work

Grades are agreed between all three, and a grade only moves when the underlying thing moves. Nobody writes a section they cannot evidence, corrections are published with a date, and no partner brand sees a page before it goes live.
